Codex

These steps follow OpenAI’s Codex documentation. WeHarness has not yet tested Codex end to end; see Compatibility.

Terminal window
codex mcp add weharness --url https://mcp.weharness.io/mcp

This writes the server to Codex’s configuration file, ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.weharness]
url = "https://mcp.weharness.io/mcp"

You can also add those two lines yourself. The Codex CLI, the IDE extension and the desktop app share this configuration.

Terminal window
codex mcp login weharness

Your browser opens WeHarness sign-in. Sign in and allow the access Codex asks for. Codex stays signed in while you use it, for up to 90 days. See Sign-in and disconnect.

Terminal window
codex mcp list

Then start Codex and ask:

List my WeHarness workspaces.

In the WeHarness app, Connect MCP now lists Codex with when it was last used.

  • To turn WeHarness off without removing it, add enabled = false to its [mcp_servers.weharness] table.
  • To remove it, delete the table, or run codex mcp --help for the remove command of your Codex version.

Removing it from Codex does not end its sign-in with WeHarness. To stop it at once, select Disconnect beside it in Connect MCP.

Add the skill for coding tools to Codex’s instructions (for example your AGENTS.md), as Codex’s documentation describes.
